Vertical Cable is heading to Canada this week for two CEDIA Tech + Business Summits: Toronto (Mississauga) on Tuesday, October 6, and Montreal on Thursday, October 8. Every CEDIA Tech + Business Summit is free to attend.

We break down what each rating means, how the substitution rule works, how to choose between 18/2 and 14/2, and why reel-in-box packaging saves time on the pull.

The 45 RMU 2 Post Open Rack Enclosure (047-WOS-0245/2P) provides a sturdy, accessible solution for organizing network and telecommunications equipment. Its open-frame design offers easy access for installation, maintenance, and cable management while supporting standard 19-inch rack-mount equipment.

Whether you’re color-coding a single-rack MDF or standardizing color by function across an entire campus, having the jacket colors on hand to match your convention makes the system easier to maintain for whoever touches it next — including you, eighteen months from now.

Here’s what’s actually changing for that network, and how to migrate it to higher speeds using the LGX enclosures, LC/SC connectivity, and MPO cassette systems enterprise, campus, and SMB customers are running today.

Now more manufacturers are shipping panels and readers that default to OSDP, and the wiring question comes up on every bid: can you still run the same cable, or do you need something built for OSDP?

Direct burial vs. outdoor cable mix-ups cost installers money. An outdoor-rated cable pulled through wet soil without a water-blocking core doesn’t fail right away, it fails eighteen months later, when moisture finally wicks into the jacket.

Fiber brings fast service to the building, but that does not automatically mean every desk, TV, laptop, or gaming console will get the same speed. The network inside the home still matters, and that is where proper cabling and installation make the difference.
